WWW Wednesday: 27 May 2020

Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! Welcome to another WWW Wednesday! As a reminder, WWW Wednesday is a meme sponsored by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. To take part, you just have to answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you will read next?

Currently Reading

  • Daughter of the Siren Queen by Tricia Levenseller (audiobook) – packed with just as much action and adventure as book one. So far I am loving this one too!

Recently Finished Reading

Now that I am back to the lab, I am flying through audiobooks again since I usually listen to them the entire time that I am working.

  • The Glamourist by Luanne G. Smith (ARC) – 4 stars. A enchanting follow up to The Vine Witch! There was even more mystery, mayhem, and magic. Review to come!
  • The Kingdom of Liars by Nick Martell (ALC) – 3 stars. I’m so torn with this one because the first half of this book was the slowest of slow burns and the world building bogged you down. The second half of the book was an incredible adventure! Review to come!
  • The Dark Tide by Alicia Jasinska (eARC) – 2 stars. This one had so much potential being compared to two of my favorite books (The Wicked Deep meets A Curse so Dark and Lonely), but the execution fell so flat. Ugh. Review to come!
  • The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware (audiobook) – 3.5 stars. I caved and finally read my first Ruth Ware! While I enjoyed this one, it definitely didn’t have the magic that I was expecting. My mini review is here.
  • The Broken Girls by Simone St. James (audiobook) – 4 stars. Simone St. James just knows how to write incredible thrillers that incorporate ghosts. My mini review is here
  • The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware (audiobook) – 5 stars. And this is when I ate my words and officially became a Ruth Ware believer. This book was incredible. My mini review is here
  • A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson (audiobook) – 4.5 stars. I’m so glad that this one lived up to the hype. I can’t wait for book two. My mini review is here.
  • My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite (audiobook) – 4 stars. Not gonna lie, if I was Korede, I might have tried to kill Ayoola myself. This book is dark but also humorous as well, which I didn’t expect. Definitely a good read! My mini review is here
  • Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller (audiobook) – 4 stars. A female Captain Jack Sparrow? Um, yes please! Thoroughly enjoyed this one! My mini review is here
  • Reputation by Sara Shepard (audiobook) – 3.5 stars. Wow! This book was an absolute trainwreck that I couldn’t tear my eyes from. Every time I thought it couldn’t get worse, I ate my words. Review to come!
  • The Beautiful by Renee Adhieh (ARC) – 4 stars. This was a reread for me as a part of the read-along sponsored by Penguin Teen in anticipation of The Damned. I ended up enjoying this story even more the second time around. Celine is such a fantastic heroine.
  • Nightborn by Jessica Thorne (eARC) – 4 stars. Nightborn definitely gave Mageborn a run for its money. This sequel was a lot bloodier and full of action. Review to come!

Up Next to Read

Have you read any of these? Are any of these on your TBR? Let’s discuss!

Also, please leave your WWW Wednesday links in the comments.

  1. I’ve heard good things about The Beautiful. I’m not really a vampire person, but everything I’ve heard about it has made me want to read it. It’s on my eventual TBR.

  2. Oh wow you finished a lot! When I’m working in the lab I’m also flying through audiobooks haha!
    Enjoy your reading!
I just started City of stairs!
