WWW Wednesday: 16 October 2019

Hey bookworms! Life has been so busy lately (ugh, thesis writing) that I just realized that I haven’t done one of these in several weeks. Welp, today I am back for another WWW Wednesday post. Since it’s been a while, I’ll include just the books that I’ve read so far this month.

Just as a reminder WWW Wednesday is a meme sponsored by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. To take part, you just have to answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you will read next?

Currently Reading

  • Her Crown of Fire by Renee April (ARC) – I’m a few chapters in, and the MC just found out that she can command fire. Can’t wait to see where this goes.
  • Whispers in the Dark by Laurel Hightower (ebook) – I just started this one, so it’s too early to tell.
  • Obscura by Joe Hart (audiobook) – I’m 50% through this one, and right now we don’t know what is real and what isn’t. It’s alright, but I’m not really loving it.

Recently Finished Reading

  • The Second Chance Supper Club by Nicole Meier (ARC) – 4 stars. Such a wonderful story about self-discovery and always coming home. Here is my review.
  • A Spell of Murder by Kennedy Kerr (eARC) – 4 stars. This witchy cozy mystery was a great start to this series! Here is my review.
  • The Grace Year by Kim Liggett (ARC) – 4.5 stars. What an incredibly powerful book. Here is my review.
  • The Furies by Katie Lowe (ARC) – 2.5 stars. Ugh, this book was such a disappointment for me. I couldn’t wait for this one since it was supposed to be a resurgence of The Craft. Here is my review.
  • The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh (ARC) – 3.5 stars. This is a good story, but we don’t really get vampires until the end…and I wanted vampires from page one. Here is my review.
  • Faker by Sarah Smith (ARC) – 4 stars. Such an adorable enemies to lovers story. This is one of my all time favorite tropes, and this one didn’t disappoint! Here is my review.
  • Beasts of the Frozen Sun by Jill Criswell (eARC) – 4 stars. Calling all mythology fans! This is a fantastic start for this trilogy! Here is my review.
  • Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle (ARC) – 4 stars. This cozy Christmas romance reminded me of the Hallmark Christmas movies that I love. Here is my review.
  • War Girls by Tochi Onyebuchi (ARC) – 4 stars. A sci-fi/fantasy set in futuristic Nigeria. This one definitely gave me all of the Black Panther vibes, and I was here for it. Here is my review.
  • Fireborne by Rosaria Munda (ARC & FC) – 4 stars. This basically reminded me of a more gruesome version of How to Train Your Dragon, and it was awesome! Here is my review.
  • Twice in a Blue Moon by Christina Lauren – 3.5 stars. After absolutely loving The Unhoneymooners, I couldn’t wait to read Twice in a Blue Moon. This is a good story, but I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much. My review is coming soon!

Up Next to Read

Have you read any of these? Are any of these on your TBR? Let’s discuss! Also, please leave your WWW Wednesday links in the comments.

  1. Ooh, you’ve read so many books! I think I have The Second Chance Supper Club on my TBR, so I’m super glad that you liked it!! I also hope you like Her Crown of Fire, because that sounds supper interesting! I’ve seen Fireborne a few times, and if it’s a more brutal version of HTTYD, then I definitely want to know more lol

    Happy reading!!
