WWW Wednesday: 22 May 2019

Happy Wednesday fellow bookworms! I didn’t get a chance to participate last week, but I am back this week for WWW Wednesday. As a reminder for the newbies, WWW Wednesday is a meme sponsored by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. To take part, you just have to answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you will read next?

Currently Reading

  • A Shifting of Stars by Kathy Kimbray (eARC) – I’m 20% through this one, and the world building is so well done. I am dying to know what is so special about Meadow that she was covertly rescued from prison and being hidden from the prince.
  • The Gift of Quoxxel by Richard Titus – I’m 10% through this one. It reads like one big riddle (think Alice in Wonderland), so I need to keep going to figure out what’s going on.
  • Changeling: The Oddmire Book One by William Ritter (eARC) – I’m 53% through this one, and I’m loving this story. Identical twin brothers Tinn and Cole appear normal, but one of them is a changeling. The catch? Neither one knows who is the changeling. The changeling must return to the Goblin Gorde or die.

Recently Finished Reading

  • Hallow by Olga Gibbs (eARC) – 4 stars. A continuation of Ariel’s story and her fight against Baza and his hellish Angel squad. Here’s my review.
  • The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling – 4.5 stars. An atmospheric debut novel that reminds me to NEVER go cave diving. Here’s my review.
  • Star-Crossed by Minnie Darke (ARC) – 2 stars. Based off of the premise, this one had so much potential. Unfortunately, it fell flat. Here’s my review.
  • The Night Before by Wendy Walker – 5 stars. Read this one in under 4 hours. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Loved this story! Review coming this week.
  • A Constellation of Roses by Miranda Asebedo (ARC) – 4 stars. A coming of age novel about second chances and magical realism.
  • The Living God by Kaytalin Platt (eARC) – 2 stars. Another book that sounded amazing in theory and was a huge disappointment. If you want to hear my thoughts, here is my Goodreads review.

Up Next to Read

Have you read any of these? Are any of these on your TBR? Let’s discuss! Also, please leave your WWW Wednesday links in the comments.

  1. I’ve not heard of these books but they sound interesting. The Gift of the Quoxxel sounds especially good and I love the cover 😊

  3. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Luminous Dead. Can’t wait to check it out! And I wasn’t the biggest fan of Miranda Asebedo’s first book, but I’m still interested in trying out A Constellation of Roses. I’ll look forward to your thoughts on it!
