So I accidentally missed last Saturday’s post, since my lab group had a late night out Friday night to say farewell to one of our postdocs. But I’m back and ready for this week’s Stacking the Shelves, which is hosted at Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality. In case you’re unfamiliar, It’s about sharing books that you are adding to your shelves regardless if they are virtual or physical. This means that you can include books you buy in a store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and ebooks!
NetGalley Approvals
- A Stranger on the Beach by Michelle Campbell – this one sounds so twisted. Can’t wait.
- Lock Every Door by Riley Sager – the first wish that I’ve had granted!
- No Place Like Here by Christina June – I requested this one SOOOO long ago, that I completely forgot about. It’s a Hansel and Gretel retelling…oh yes!
- The Last Astronaut by David Wellington – The Martian meets Interstellar. Two of my all-time favorites. This was a no-brainer.
- The Last Hope by Krista & Becca Ritchie – my first invite to review a book (Wednesday Books/St. Martin’s Press)! I can’t wait to read this sequel to The Raging Ones!
- Wilder Girls by Rory Power – YA sci-fi…honestly, it’s my kryptonite.
Edelweiss Approvals
- Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck and Fortune by Roselle Lim – I’m probably going to need an order dumplings stat while I read this.
- The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman – This sounds like a fun read, and I’m super excited for it.
- The Bride Test by Helen Hoang – I’ve been dying to read this ever since I was declined on NetGalley lol.
Physical Books
- Archie of Outlandish: The Man Who Lives Under Umbrellas by Lynette Kraft – buddy read giveaway win from New Wrinkle Publishing
- How it Feels to Float by Helena Fox (ARC) – Bookish First win
- Keep You Close by Karen Cleveland (ARC) – Goodreads win
- Thirteen by Steve Cavanagh (ARC) – Goodreads win
- Lock Every Door by Riley Sager (ARC) – ARC received from The Book Drop (perk of being a Brand Ambassador!). I was jumping up and down when my wish was granted on NetGalley. I was FLOORED when I got this in the mail from The Book Drop.
- Once A Liar by A.F. Brady – The April Books for Coffee selection from The Book Drop. A few of us ambassadors are buddy reading this one, and I CAN’T WAIT!
- The Kingdom by Jess Rothenberg (ARC) and The Everlasting Rose by Dhionelle Clayton – I won both of these in a giveaway hosted by Jess herself! (Still in disbelief that I won) I can’t wait to read The Kingdom. It’s a YA sci-fi, and I am here for it!
- Ricochet by Kathryn Bela (ARC) – provided by Flux Books. As soon as I saw that Flux had this one in their line up, I needed it! I can’t wait to dive in.
- The Red Labyrinth by Meredith Tate (ARC) – a surprise from Flux Books. I already read this one, but I am totally doing a reread to see how I digest the story now.
- The Girl He Used to Know by Tracey Garvis Graves and Wicked Saints by Emily Duncan – both of these I read as ARCs. My pre-orders came this week, and I’m in love.
Whew. What a list! Have you read any of these books? Are any of these books are your TBR? Feel free to leave your Stacking the Shelves links.
I cant wait to see what you think of Everlasting Rose and Wicked Saints!

I actually already read them both and reviewed them (forgot to link the reviews on the post).
I loved Wicked Saints. I’ve never read a YA fantasy that was so dark and get going. The Everlasting Rose didn’t live up to the expectations that I had from The Belles, which was a 5-star read for me.

I have read such good reviews on Wicked Saints. Lock Every Door looks like a thriller. The Everlasting Rose is a sequel to Belles, but I couldn’t get into that one. I will have to try again. Happy Reading !

I also wasn’t impressed with The Everlasting Rose. I absolutely loved The Belles, but I felt that book 2 did not live up to the expectations that I had for it.

That is such a shame! Better luck next book. The author may surprise us both in future endeavors.
